    Biography

    David was born in 1800.

    He is the son of William Herbison and Elizabeth Wilson. He was famous locally as “The Bard of Dunclug”, a poet who wrote in his native Ulster Scots tongue. His father died in 1825 and in 1827 he and a brother emigrated to Canada aboard the “Rob Roy”.
